30th June 2020 - Service Update

We are part of The Pet Crematoria, which has seven dedicated pet crematoriums, serving local communities and veterinary practices. This means that we are able to network and share resources remotely and provide each other with support to minimise disruptions.

24th March 2020 - Peace of mind – Contact-Free Delivery and Collection of Ashes 

We have received several enquiries from pet owners expressing concern over whether they will be able to collect their pet's ashes. We would therefore like to put people’s minds at rest. 

If you have used our Gold Leaf individual cremation home collection service: We can deliver your pet’s ashes to your home or you may wish to collect them from our crematorium. If we deliver the ashes to your home, please inform us of a safe place to leave them. If there is no safe place available, we will knock on the door and step aside making sure the ashes are delivered safely. If there is no response, the ashes will be taken back to the crematorium where they can be collected. 

If you have used our individual cremation service and paid us directly: You can collect your pet’s ashes from our crematorium, or we can hold your pet’s ashes in safe keeping until you are able to collect them from our crematorium. 

If your vet has arranged your pet’s individual cremation and you have paid them for the service: We will deliver your pet’s ashes back to your veterinary practice, as part of our normal service. However, if your veterinary practice is unable to receive your pet's ashes back, or if we are unable deliver them, you may wish to collect your pet’s ashes from our crematorium. We will hold your pet’s ashes in safe keeping until you are able to collect them from our crematorium.  

Whatever the circumstances, we would like to reassure you that while in our care, we will safely keep hold of your pet’s ashes until such time they can be delivered to you, your practice, or until they can be collected.  

The loss of a pet can be devastating and as pet owners ourselves we know just how important it is for you to receive your pet’s ashes in a timely manner. We will therefore do everything within our power to continue to do so at this difficult time. 

 

23rd March 2020 - Closed door policy

Please note that we are now working to a Closed Door Policy, which means that we will be shutting our Chapel of Rest to members of the public for attendings.

We kindly ask that if you have arranged to bring your pet to us for cremation, to please telephone us on arrival and we will come and collect your companion from your car.

This will also apply to collecting your pet's ashes - please telephone us upon arrival and we will hand your companion's ashes to you in your car.

23rd March 2020 - Attending service

I am incredibly grateful to my staff who are working hard to continue to provide pet cremation services. However, today we have taken the decision to withdraw our attending service at the crematorium until further notice. We have not taken this decision lightly, as we know how important it is for people to visit our Chapel of Rest and say their final goodbyes prior to cremation.

We have made this decision to enable our staff to work safely and to continue to provide invaluable pet cremation services, including Gold Leaf home collections. 

Please do contact us if you need us, as we are committed to providing pet owners with dignified cremation services for their beloved pet in these challenging times.

 

19th March 2020 - Steps we are taking

We are doing what we can to keep everyone safe and enable us to continue to offer vital pet cremation services. Below are some of our measures::

  • Reduced the number of people attending the crematorium at any one time and the number of appointments per day.
  • If you wish to visit us, bring your pet to the crematorium or plan to collect your pet’s ashes please telephone us first.
  • On arrival please stay in your vehicle and phone us to inform us of your arrival.
  • Maintaining social distancing and where possible reduce or operate a contact-free service, such as removing the need to sign forms and taking payment over the phone.  
  • Offering a home collection service, where possible, for those who are self-isolating or socially distancing themselves. When contacting us, we will explain the steps we are undertaking to keep everyone safe when visiting their home.
  • Providing representatives with adequate protection (such as gloves) during home collections.
  • Cleaning our Chapel of Rest and public areas thoroughly between appointments.
  • If applicable, ask that anyone wishing to visit our memorial gardens to defer their visit until a later date or contact us in advance of visiting.
  • Wishing any client who feels unwell or who has tested positive for COVID-19 to stay at home and take care of themselves.

18th March 2020 - Here for you

In light of concerns regarding coronavirus, we would just like to let you know that we are still open and able to provide our services.

Losing a beloved companion is difficult enough for any pet owner, but with so much uncertainty, we want to reassure you that any pet brought to us for cremation will be treated with compassion and dignity as always and we are working harder than ever to make sure that you have complete faith in us.

If you have any worries or concerns about collection, return of ashes or our crematorium’s status, please feel free to pick up the phone or send us a message and we will answer any questions you may have with warmth and understanding.

 

15th March 2020 - Business as usual

Our crematorium is open and operating as usual. However, please be aware we have introduced some measures to protect people’s well-being. If you visit our crematorium please read the advisory signs on display for further information.

As the coronavirus outbreak continues to develop in the UK and globally, we would like to reassure you that our top priority is to protect the welfare of our customers, members of the public and employees.

At the same time, we understand that the security of providing dignified pet cremation services is of critical importance. We would, therefore, like to reassure you that we are planning and taking all necessary steps, consistent with our Business Continuity Plan, to minimise any potential adverse impact in the coming weeks and months.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on the steps we are taking to maintain services and to protect the health, safety and well-being of customers and employees.
